Refund and cancellation policy
Subscription, booking and cancellation rules for PublicPro users.
Last Updated: August 2026
This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to eligible bookings, marketplace services, subscriptions, listings and payments made through PublicPro, operated by ALFASTAR INDIA FINANCE CONSULTANCY PRIVATE LIMITED.
PublicPro operates as a marketplace and discovery platform that enables users to find workers/service providers, discover shops/businesses and search for property listings, along with other marketplace-related services.
1. Marketplace Services
PublicPro connects users with independent third parties, including:
Service providers/workers;
Professionals and technicians;
Shops/businesses and merchants;
Property owners;
Property agents/brokers; and
Other eligible marketplace participants.
The applicable cancellation and refund treatment may depend on whether the payment was:
Made through PublicPro's authorized payment system; or
Made to PublicPro for a subscription, membership, listing or other Platform service.
PublicPro can ordinarily process or initiate refunds only for eligible payments that were collected through PublicPro and are within its reasonable control.
2. Worker / Service Booking Cancellation
Where PublicPro provides a service-booking facility through our platform, customers may request cancellation before the service begins.
Any applicable:
Cancellation fee;
Visit/inspection fee;
Non-refundable component; or
Other applicable charge
may be displayed or communicated before confirmation, where applicable.
Eligibility for a refund will depend on the booking status, applicable service conditions and whether any cost has already been incurred.
3. Cancellation by Service Provider
If a service provider/worker cancels or is unable to provide a prepaid service, PublicPro may, where applicable, assist the customer with:
Rescheduling the service;
Discovery or assignment of another suitable service provider; or
Refund of the eligible amount paid through PublicPro.
Where the payment was made directly to the service provider, the refund will ordinarily need to be processed by that service provider not initiated by PublicPro.
4. PublicPro Subscription, Membership and Listing Fees
PublicPro may offer paid subscription, membership, listing or promotional plans to:
Service providers/workers;
Shops/businesses;
Property owners/agents; and
Other eligible marketplace participants.
The applicable price, duration, features and taxes may be displayed before purchase.
Once a paid subscription, membership or listing plan has been successfully activated and its benefits have become available to the user, the applicable fee will ordinarily be non-refundable, except where:
The amount was charged more than once for the same transaction;
Payment was collected but the applicable plan was not activated due to a PublicPro technical issue;
An incorrect amount was charged by PublicPro;
A user may choose not to renew a subscription or listing plan for a subsequent billing period, subject to the applicable plan conditions.
5. Direct Payments to Third Parties
Where payment is made directly to a:
Service provider/worker;
Shop/business;
Property owner;
Property agent/broker; or
Other third-party marketplace participant
through cash, bank transfer, UPI or another payment method outside PublicPro's payment system, such payment is primarily a transaction between the payer and the relevant third party that PublicPro cannot automatically reverse or refund funds that PublicPro did not collect or control.
06. Duplicate Transactions
If a user is successfully charged more than once for the same transaction through PublicPro, the duplicate transaction may be reviewed.
Once verified, an eligible duplicate amount may be refunded or reversed through the applicable payment channel.
07. Failed or Pending Transactions
If a transaction fails but an amount is debited from the user's bank account, card, UPI account or other payment instrument, the amount may be automatically reversed according to the applicable bank, payment gateway, card network, UPI system or payment service provider's process.
Users should allow the applicable banking/payment-network processing period.
If the amount is not automatically reversed within the applicable period, users may contact PublicPro with the transaction details for assistance.
08. Refund Method
Approved refunds for eligible payments collected through PublicPro will ordinarily be processed to the original payment method, wherever technically and legally possible.
The time required for an approved refund to reflect in the user's account may depend on the:
Bank;
Payment gateway;
Card network;
UPI provider;
Wallet/payment service; or
Other financial institution involved.
PublicPro does not control processing delays caused solely by banks, payment networks or third-party payment service providers after a refund has been successfully initiated.
09. Refund Request
A user requesting a cancellation or refund should provide relevant information such as:
Registered name;
Registered mobile number;
Booking/order/reference ID;
Transaction/payment ID;
Service provider/shop/listing details, where applicable;
Payment amount and date;
Reason for cancellation/refund; and
Supporting photographs, screenshots or documents, where relevant.
Refund requests should be submitted as soon as reasonably possible after the issue occurs.
PublicPro may request additional information reasonably required to verify the transaction or refund claim.
10. Refund Processing
Once an eligible refund request has been reviewed and approved, PublicPro will initiate the refund through the applicable payment channel.
The final credit timeline may vary depending on the payment method, banking system and payment service provider.
Users will be informed where additional information or action is required for processing an eligible refund.
11. Fraudulent or Abusive Refund Claims
PublicPro reserves the right to reject, subject to applicable law, refund requests involving:
Fraudulent claims;
Manipulated documents;
False transaction information;
Repeated abuse of the refund process;
Misrepresentation of service status; or
Other misuse of the Platform.
PublicPro may suspend or restrict accounts involved in fraudulent or abusive activities in accordance with its Terms and Conditions.
12. Third-Party Refund Policies
Certain services, products or transactions available through PublicPro may involve independent third parties.
Such transactions may also be subject to the cancellation, return and refund policies of the relevant third party.
Where applicable, users should review the relevant provider's terms before making payment.
13. Consumer Rights
Nothing in this Refund & Cancellation Policy is intended to restrict, waive or exclude any statutory right or remedy available to a consumer under applicable Indian law.
Where applicable law provides rights that conflict with any provision of this Policy, the applicable statutory requirement will prevail.
14. Changes to this Policy
PublicPro may modify this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time to reflect changes in:
Platform services;
Marketplace functionality;
Payment processes;
Business practices; or
Applicable legal or regulatory requirements.
The updated Policy will be published on the Platform with a revised effective/updated date.
